Terms of Service
Effective: 1 August 2026. These terms apply to your use of Portpeek.
Service description
Portpeek lets you check whether specific TCP ports on a hostname or IP address you specify are reachable from the internet. It opens real TCP connections from outside your network and reports whether each port connected, refused, or timed out, along with the measured latency.
Portpeek does not scan ranges, enumerate hosts, or probe ports you did not explicitly select. Port 25 is never checked.
Free usage
The service is currently free. No account, sign-up, or payment is required. You can use Portpeek as described above without any registration.
Portpeek stores no data from your checks — no hostnames, IP addresses, ports, or results. No cookies are used. There is no email or notification system.
Pro plan (not yet available)
A Pro plan is planned with additional features including API access, adjustable timeouts, and multiple hostnames per check. It is not yet available — the pricing page clearly marks all Pro features as "Planned" and the subscribe button as disabled.
When Pro launches, a subscription will be required. The terms below describe how billing will work at that point.
Billing (for Pro plan, when available)
What you buy
A Pro subscription provides access to additional features beyond the Free tier: API access, adjustable timeouts (1–30 seconds), multiple hostnames per single check, and unlimited custom ports per check. The exact feature set is described on the Pricing page.
Price and billing period
Pro is billed at $9 per month, charged at the start of each monthly billing period. There is no annual or multi-month plan at this time.
Trial period
If a trial is offered at launch, new Pro subscribers will not be charged until the trial period ends. Cancelling during the trial incurs no charge.
Failed payments
If a payment fails (e.g., card declined, expired, or insufficient funds):
- We will retry the charge automatically up to 3 times over 7 days.
- During this period, Pro access continues so you can resolve the issue with your payment provider.
- If all retries fail, your subscription will be suspended and you will be downgraded to the Free tier. No further charges will be attempted.
- You can update your payment method and resubscribe at any time.
Refund policy
All charges are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or in the case of a billing error on our side. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate within 5 business days.
Cancellation
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. After cancellation, no further charges will be made. Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Portpeek only to check ports on hosts you own or are authorised to test. You may not:
- Use Portpeek to probe hosts without authorisation.
- Automate or script Portpeek in a way that exceeds reasonable individual usage.
- Use Portpeek to harass, disrupt, or attack any system or network.
Limitation of liability
Portpeek is provided "as is" without any warranty. The results are informational only — a connected port does not guarantee a secure or correctly configured service. You are responsible for the security and configuration of your own systems.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the providers of Portpeek are not liable for any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Portpeek after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
